Description
In The Equilibrium, the artist presents a cosmic interpretation of the Yin Yang, exploring how two opposing forces define one another. The composition is divided by a massive, deep obsidian curve that sweeps across the canvas, representing the “Yin”—the dark, fertile unknown of the void. Within this darkness, a stark white figure stands at the base, its bright silhouette carving out a presence against the shadows. Conversely, the “Yang”—the vast, open white of the sky—is occupied by a tall, spindly black figure. This figure is marked by a series of golden-orange strokes above its head, suggesting a crown of thought or a beacon of enlightenment. Set against a backdrop of grey, cloud-like shards and fine cosmic stardust, the work suggests that we are never truly “one” thing; we carry a piece of the light into the dark, and a piece of the dark into the light. It is a meditation on how balance is not found by staying in one place, but by existing harmoniously within the tension of opposites. “The light does not fear the dark; it completes it. We are the bridge between the two.”
